I updated from Mountain Lion to El Capitan on Monday, Nov 23, 2015, later in the afternoon.
First big mistake!
Never Update an OS at the end of the day because by the time I realized something was going not right with the update because the bar looked stuck for a long, too long a time, I was 5 minutes too late to call the support line.
With help of Support and my girlfriend, we managed to download and install El Captian again and now it works.
Of course during the course of working and opening apps somethings need updates which often occur easily and Apple even provided a page and easy download for and old Java for Dreamweaver.
Today though I discovered that my F-keys are not working properly anymore. I wanted to make the sound of a video less loud and all the open windows disappeared and with the next push came all back.
The settings of the keyboard didn’t really enlighten me and search only told me that those keys are preprogrammed and can be changed to something else. I didn’t find out how to put them back to where they belong.
I did find out though with the fn key, I can work the sound keys again. For now that’s good enough. But next time I’m near an Apple Store I’m gonna ask them.
Here’s a video I found with some tips of El Capitan, split screens, well new window management features. Something to get used to…
And something I will certainly test and see if it’ll help me more focus on the task at hand.
