I believe that everybody has experienced at least once the Shiny Object Syndrome. Some of these took me away a few minutes, maybe a day, and some of them took me away for months!
Entrepreneurs and Shiny Object Syndrome
Focusing on where you want to go, why you want to go there, how to get there, when you will get there, leaves no room for shiny object syndrome – there is no space. Sometimes we learn after being burnt a few times, and yes shiny objects have a way of burning and leaving scars. Staying focused with a goal in mind gets you to that place where you understand what you are doing, appreciate why you are doing what you are doing and learn something new in the process…a skill, which you can then impart to others.
Climbing stairs is always a challenging process if you have never climbed a stair before. Focusing on climbing the stair, you look to the top and begin the process one step at a time.
You climb a few steps, stop and return to the bottom, you are always starting over and learn nothing in the process, except frustration and financial loss.
I have learned a few things along the way thanks to Dave and William Wood, my Team, Team leaders, and friends I have made along the way. For this I am very grateful and a Big Thank you to all those who contributed to my progress thus far.
The today’s Entrepreneur Shiny Object Syndrome daily shortcut episode was driven home in no uncertain way. The emphasis being FOCUS and then focus some more since you are responsible and accountable to You.
I’m involved in several projects at the moment, it’s hard to focus on them all at once. What I try to do is focus at the one task at hand for that one project. Like posting this blog post and syndicate it :-)
My main focus though is building my crowdfunding team. Yes, I’m trying to get you off of your focus for a little while LOL because afterwards you not only can fully focus on your business but you will also experience the relaxing feeling of getting passive “income”.
See, I give people like you the opportunity to get a position in my community crowdfunding team. Their job is to find 4-5 people who do the same. And it doesn’t even matter how long it takes. Of course, the faster the better because from this moment on, they can fully, 100% focus back on their business because now the crowd grows almost by its own.
And when at any point later, somebody approaches you and also wants to be part of your crowdfunding team, even better :-)
I, for instance, have a new idea for a business and by the time my crowd produces passive donations to me that idea is hopefully ready to be launched because for now, it’s just an idea…
